David Roman, Professor of English, American Studies and Ethnicity at USC, draws on his current work on the cultural politics of American theatre in the 1940s and 1950s, focusing on the casting of Mexican-born actor Anthony Quinn as the replacement for Brando in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire.
