Staying with the Trouble: Biodiversity, Geography, Literacies, Vulnerabilities and Resistances

‘Staying with the trouble requires learning to be truly present, not as a vanishing pivot between awful or edenic pasts and apocalyptic or salvific futures, but as mortal critters entwined in myriad unfinished configurations of places, times, matters, meaning’. This is the time when we need the ‘reciprocating energies of biologies, arts, and activisms for multispecies resurgence.’ –Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene, Donna Haraway (2016)

This year’s Feminist Theory and Research Graduate Symposium invites graduate student papers, multi-media and/or creative presentations that investigate what ‘staying with the trouble’ means for feminist theory, methods, projects and practices. Contributions look at the messy entwinements of biodiversity, geography, literacies, vulnerabilities and/or resistances.

This event is sponsored by DE in Feminist Theory & Research, GSW Program
