We will be planning for a larger Movement Syllabi Hackathon event for spring quarter. “Movement syllabi” are course syllabi intended for popular education or formal academic use, created by and for engagement around social movement issues historically and today. Powerful examples include the #FergusonSyllabus for BlackLiveMatter organizing (2014), and the #StandingRockSyllabus around the indigenous water protectors’ movement (2016).Come and bring your ideas and excitement to talk about the possibilities and challenges of using movement syllabi in our teaching, and any ideas on how we can organize a living archive of movement syllabi. We will be hosting a larger hackathon event in spring quarter that we need your leadership and participation to make a reality!

This event is sponsored by HATCH: Feminist Arts & Science Shop (a Mellon Research Initiative)
