Engagements: Exploring Regional and International
Partnerships in the Humanities

Budget cuts. Hiring freezes. Furlough days. As universities are increasingly impacted by the current economic crisis, scholars and advocates for the humanities face significant challenges. At the same time, we are seeing and creating a wide array of new opportunities and innovative models for humanities research and collaboration, particularly in the arenas of new technology, engaged scholarship, and partnerships between universities, communities and public organizations. Bringing together center directors and representatives of member campuses throughout the region, this annual meeting will be an important forum for to exchange ideas and think strategically about the possibilities as well as the problems facing our disciplines and institutions in these challenging times.
