John Plotz (Brandeis University) will be giving a talk, organized by Elizabeth Miller with the support of the English Department, on Thursday May 7 at 4 PM in Voorhies 126. Plotz is the author of The Crowd: British Literature and Public Politics, Portable Property: Victorian Culture on the Move, and Semi-Detached: The Aesthetics of Virtual Experience Since Dickens. Plotz is also an editor at Public Books. The title of his talk, from a current project on humor and science fiction, is “The Planet Stops: Science Fiction’s End Times.”
