Humanities Labs Pilot funding to support interdisciplinary research with real-world impact
Humanities Labs Awards support interdisciplinary faculty and student research teams, who leverage arts and humanities methodologies to grapple with some of today's most pressing challenges. Over multiple years, funding also seeks to generate new opportunities for undergraduate experiential learning and to open paths for meaningful community engagement.
Supporting Interdisciplinarity
While the value of interdisciplinary research approaches has become widely recognizes in recent years, challenges in pursuing those approaches remain--from the time and effort required to bridge across disciplinary boundaries, to the risk of seeing humanities and arts methodologies sidelined in favor of strictly quantitative approaches. Humanities Labs seeks to alleviate those challenges, by providing multiyear financial and technical support to interdisciplinary initiatives that explicitly center the arts and humanities.
Connecting Research to Practice
From deepening community partnerships to creating new opportunities for undergraduate experiential learning, Humanities Labs seek to strengthen the relationship between research and practice.
