The Humanities Institute website provides a variety of resources for UC Davis faculty and graduate students seeking funding for humanities research. The funding opportunities page provides information on grants and fellowships available at the Humanities Institute, UC Davis, across the UC system, and at major external granting agencies and foundations. In addition, the Humanities Institute maintains a grants calendar listing upcoming calls for proposals. Faculty are also encouraged to conduct a personalized search of funding opportunities using the Community of Science Pivot database, a subscription service available through the UC Davis Office of Research.
The DHI also provides proposal support to UC Davis humanities faculty seeking external grant support for specific projects. DHI staff is available by appointment to work with individual faculty on proposals-in-progress. Though we cannot provide individual research services into available funding sources, our staff can assist with strategic planning, crafting initial grant application drafts, and fine-tuning drafts before final submission.
The DHI can also help facilitate collaborative grants for scholars across the humanities and between the humanities and sciences, including providing institutional and in-kind support for grants that support research or intellectual collaborations of small groups of faculty.
