Faculty Awards

The DHI administers two faculty awards. The Faculty Research Fellowship (FRF) is an annual award open to any ladder-rank faculty within the College of Arts and Science whose research questions are informed by qualitative, humanistic methodologies, or artistic practices, and who are undertaking a major research project. The call is typically released in Fall Quarter and closes midway through Winter Quarter. 

The Humanities Labs supports interdisciplinary teams of faculty and students who are undertaking projects that center the arts and humanities. At least one project lead must be Senate faculty in the College of Arts and Science. Labs funding lasts two years and the current funding cycle closes October 30, 2026.

The DHI co-sponsors faculty-led campus events that showcase the arts and humanities and make them accessible to a broad audience, helps publicize departmental activities (events, awards, projects) through its newsletter and website, and support faculty in seeking extramural grant funding.
