Community Resources

The DHI organizes and co-sponsors events that are free and open to the UC Davis and broader community. We also serve as a clearinghouse for arts and humanities events on campus and across the City of Davis, and seek to amplify insights and stories from humanities and arts research with the College of Letters and Science.

DHI Events

The DHI hosts and co-sponsors high-interest events open to the entire UC Davis and broader local community. In 2026-2027, we are continuing a thematic focus on disability studies and collaborating with departments and units on campus to offer programming on topics ranging from the culture of AI, to Antarctic travels, to the past, present, and future uses of cotton.

What's next? War & Disability: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Iran and Ukraine (Sept. 29)

DHI Encounters

DHI Encounters is a new event series that takes one work of art or culture and examines it from multiple disciplinary perspectives, through a series of events on- and off-campus, over the course of a year. Every event is free and open to the public, and there is something for everyone–lectures, screenings, performances, and informal conversations, all building on each other to create space and time for deep learning and slow reflection, for making new connections across time, cultures, and disciplines, and for finding inspiration and community. This year's work is The Odyssey.

What's next? Homer vs Nolan (October 16)
