WORKSHOP AGENDA

  1. Introductions
  2. Making data (everyone should bring a laptop or smartphone) and creating a digital land acknowledgement
  3. Introduction to ArcGIS online (demo of mapmaking from .csv files), as a way to unlock decolonized stories hidden in colonial archives, also thinking about mapping in motion
  4. Data sovereignty and decisions about refusal (BR)
  5. Small groups working on brief storymapping projects (participants will be encouraged to consider how mapping might be useful for their own work)
  6. Conclusion: is there interest in forming an Indigenous cartography working group?
