WORKSHOP AGENDA
- Introductions
- Making data (everyone should bring a laptop or smartphone) and creating a digital land acknowledgement
- Introduction to ArcGIS online (demo of mapmaking from .csv files), as a way to unlock decolonized stories hidden in colonial archives, also thinking about mapping in motion
- Data sovereignty and decisions about refusal (BR)
- Small groups working on brief storymapping projects (participants will be encouraged to consider how mapping might be useful for their own work)
- Conclusion: is there interest in forming an Indigenous cartography working group?
