Opportunity open to Artists, Writers, Poets, Musicians, Performers, Visual Artists and All Creatives from Sacramento Region.
This is an invitation to individuals and/or groups to submit proposals for inclusion in the Un/Equal Freedoms: Expressions for Social Justice inaugural exhibition.
The Un/Equal Freedoms: Expressions for Social Justice destination website intends to support individual and collaborative projects that respond to issues facing California currently, including pervasive social, political and economic inequalities, and various systemic barriers to equality and freedom(s). Art that offers visions of an improved society where life is secure and real opportunities for happiness, ethical relations and community are more equitably distributed to all are also welcomed.
The website prioritizes art created by Sacramento Regional artists and the Sacramento State University creative community. It spotlights forms of art and cultural expression that are unique to, and/or historically rooted in, the cause of social justice. All artistic mediums welcome.
The Center on Race, Immigration and Social Justice (CRISJ) at Sacramento State University has teamed up with Sacramento Regional Community Arts Organizations, Social Activists, Sacramento County artists and the SacState Community to produce this destination website.
Awards: Selected participants will receive $400.00 individual, $800.00 to groups of two or more. Up to $400.00 for CSUS employees, pending funds, for supply support.
