Imagining America (IA) is a national consortium with higher education institutional members and community partners housed at the University of California, Davis. IA brings together scholars, artists, designers, humanists, and organizers to imagine, study, and enact a more just and liberatory ‘America’ and world. Working across institutional, disciplinary, and community divides, IA strengthens and promotes public scholarship, cultural organizing, and campus change that inspires collective imagination, knowledge-making, and civic action on pressing public issues. Through our programs, collaborative research, publications, and national convenings, IA connects, convenes, promotes and fortifies campus and community based knowledge production and creative community development. The Managing Director is the lead organizer of the national IA consortium, contributing to Imagining America’s overall strategy and leading key areas of work, including staff management and development and organizing the National Advisory Board, Regional Advisory Council, Leadership Forum, and National Gathering. The Managing Director leads administrative strategic operations, including HR and budgetary processes, provides leadership, communications management, strategic planning, and direct support to IA leadership, and engages IA’s diverse networks and constituents.
