The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) is offering one fellowship of 6 months for post-doctoral scholars at the institute in Amman, Jordan. The fellowship, provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), supports research in the humanities and disciplines of the social sciences that have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods, and contribute to scholarship in Near Eastern studies.

DISCIPLINES
Humanities. Social Sciences. Classical languages, linguistics, literature, history, jurisprudence, philosophy, archaeology, comparative religion, ethics, and the history, criticism, and theory of the arts.

ACADEMIC LEVEL
Postdoctoral Scholars.

CITIZENSHIP
Open only to U.S. citizens. Must be a U.S. citizen or must have lived in the U.S. for 3 years immediately preceding the application deadline.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD or equivalent professional training at time of application. U.S. citizen or have lived in the U.S. for the three years immediately preceding the application deadline. Summary research information. Statement of proposed research. List of financial support. List of institutions of higher learning that you have attended. Complete bibliographic citations of scholarly publications. Describe scholarships, fellowships, and honors received. Letter of recommendation. Awards must be used between May 15, 2019 and June 30, 2020.

STIPEND
Awards cover transportation by a U.S. carrier, accommodation and research facilities at ACOR, and a monthly. he maximum award amount for six months is $25,200.
