A conversation between Eddie Bonilla (Boston College) and Nick Mitchell (UC Santa Cruz) on their forthcoming books, Homegrown Communists in the Age of Neoliberalism: Multiracial Politics and the Socialist Revolution and Discipline and Surplus: Black Studies, Women's Studies and the Dawn of Neoliberalism. They will be joined by Colleen Lye (UC Berkeley). Mitchell and Bonilla will discuss their new books, radical struggle in and around the university, and centering antiracism and internationalism among the predominantly white and male-led New Left and New Communist movements —a challenge for then and now.

Co-hosted by the Davis Humanities Institute, the Interdisciplinary Marxist Working Group at UC Berkeley, and the Marxist Institute for Research. This is also celebrates the launch of the MIR.
