The Being Human Initiative at the UCR Center for Ideas and Society offers graduate students in the Arts and Humanities the opportunity to participate in a workshop with art historians/museum professionals from the UK, on April 27, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, on zoom.
The workshop will be held by Mirjam Brusius and Benjamina Efua Dadzie, two of the initiators of 100 Histories of 100 Worlds, in 1 Object, a grassroots organization working out of London. They re-write object narratives in museums in mindful and creative ways, informed by both new global perspectives and local experiences.

During the 2 hour zoom workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn about the project and its goals, about ideas and strategies of decolonizing museum narratives, and about the importance and the challenges of framing the visual by written words. =
