Carmen Maria Machado is the author of the best-selling memoir In the Dream House and the award-winning short story collection Her Body and Other Parties (2018). Her essays, fiction and criticism have appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times, Granta, Vogue, This American Life, Harper’s Bazaar, Tin House, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, The Believer, Guernica and elsewhere. 
She lives in Philadelphia and is the Abrams Artist-in-Residence at the University of Pennsylvania. Machado will read from In the Dream House, followed by a Q&A hosted by Ethan Nosowsky, her editor at Graywolf Press.  
 
The UC Davis Creative Writing Series is organized by the Creative Writing Program, Department of English in the College of Letters and Science. This reading is co-sponsored by the Manetti Shrem Museum.
