Fall 2022 Italian Film Night

Fall 2022 Italian Film Night

Event Date

Location
1002 Cruess Hall

Join the Italian Program at UC Davis and C.I.A.O. (Club Italiano Americano Organizzato) for the Fall 2022 Italian Film Night on Tuesday, November 8 at 6:15 pm in 1002 Cruess Hall. This quarter, we will enjoy a night of new Italian cinema with the LGBTQIA comedy "Fairytale" ("Favola", 2017), directed by Sebastiano Mauri and starring Filippo Timi, Lucia Mascino, and Piera Degli Esposti. Mauri directed the theatrical production that inspired the film and presents us with a satirical take on the life of 1950s US housewives. Timi, also involved in the original play, is Mrs. Fairytale, a perfect yet repressed housewife who becomes aware of her own unhappiness and embarks on a process of personal liberation. Mrs. Fairytale’s stuffed poodle, elegant outfits by Prada director of design Fabio Zambernardi, and over-the-top home interiors complete the picture. Do not miss colorful, trippy, and ironically true filmmaking from Italy!
