Mellon Sawyer Seminar on Contemporary Political Struggle: Social Movements, Social Surveillance, Social Media

survelence

Event Date

Two nationally renowned authors and political thinkers discuss an issue immediate to their research and absolutely central to our time: the intersection of social movements and social media, how one has enabled the other while threatening combatants with enhanced and intensified state surveillance. If you are trying to figure out how to fight in the here and now, in the shadow of police power, from Oakland to Gezi, in the clouds of teargas and in the glare of the internet, we hope this will be a helpful conversation.
